A Busy Weekend Ahead in Aurora

There’s a lot happening around Aurora this weekend as the community heads into the heart of spring. From downtown shopping and local businesses to yard sales and the annual city cleanup, there are plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy the weekend around town.

Whether you’re clearing out the garage, hunting for unique finds, or spending an evening downtown with friends, Aurora has something going on all weekend long.

🧹 Aurora City Wide Cleanup

📍 Aurora Sports Complex — 787 Park Avenue
🗓️ May 14–16
🕗 8 AM – 2 PM

Aurora residents can take advantage of the annual City Wide Cleanup this week at the Aurora Sports Complex. The event allows residents to drop off unwanted household items and debris as part of the city’s spring cleanup efforts.

Residents must provide:

  • Aurora utility bill

  • proof of residency

The cleanup is intended for Aurora residents only.

🍷 Get Wine(d) & Dine(d) in Aurora

📍 Downtown Aurora
🗓️ Friday, May 15
🕔 5 PM – 9 PM

Main Street Aurora’s popular “Get Wine(d) & Dine(d)” event returns Friday evening, giving visitors a chance to explore downtown shops, restaurants, and businesses while enjoying specials, tastings, pop-ups, and more.

Participating businesses include:

  • Aurora Marketplace

  • Lucky Feather Soapery

  • House of Peacock

  • The Jarvis & Co. Emporium

  • Weber Sports

  • Second Street Ink

  • Southeastern Indiana Art Guild

  • and many more

It’s a great opportunity to shop local, discover new businesses, and spend an evening in downtown Aurora.

🛍️ Yard Sale Featuring Moss & Cupboard

📍 782 East Carr Street
🗓️ May 15–17
🕗 8 AM – 5 PM

Looking for vintage finds, home décor, or weekend treasure hunting? A multi-day yard sale featuring Moss & Cupboard will take place Friday through Sunday on East Carr Street.

The sale runs all three days from 8 AM to 5 PM and is expected to feature a variety of household items, décor, and unique finds.

🌸 Spring Is Picking Up Around Aurora

With warmer weather arriving, downtown Aurora continues to feel more active each week as community events, shopping weekends, and outdoor activities return for the season. From cleanup projects to downtown events and yard sales, this weekend is shaping up to be a busy one around town.

Start your morning with an energizing walk around Aurora! Meet outside the library for a casual group walk.

May’s Storytimes are all about bears! We’ll read about a bear who can’t find their underpants, a bear going down a creek and a bear that makes you go whoa!

📚 Donut Worry, Crochet Happy
📍 Local History Library @ The Depot
🕐 Wednesdays in May — 1:00 PM

Adults 18+ can join this 4-week crochet series and learn how to make a donut-shaped project that can be turned into a cute character like a fox, fish, or frog.

Registration is required, and participants should plan to attend all four sessions to complete the project.

📚 Tween Tabletop Role Playing Games Club – 4:30 PM
Set out to help a friend find a rare treasure, rescue a town from evil goblins, or maybe even save the world in the Tween Tabletop RPG Club! Using easy to learn and use rules, delve into the world of table-top roleplaying games and explore storytelling at its finest. Ages 7-12 welcome!

Looking for quiet time to relax and read? This adult reading club offers an hour of reading and light snacks followed by a casual social time to chat about books with other readers.

Attendees can also stay afterward for the “Not Your Mother’s Book Club” meeting. Ages 18+ welcome.
