🏡 Welcome to issue #3 of the Aurora Newsletter

Hi neighbors,

Happy April Fool’s Day! No tricks here — just everything happening around Aurora this week 😊

Thanks for being here — whether you’re new or have been following along these first few issues of the Aurora Newsletter.

If you’ve ever found yourself jumping between Facebook groups trying to figure out what’s going on around town… you’re not alone.

That’s exactly why I started this.

👉 One simple place for local events
👉 One spot for community updates
👉 A way to discover local businesses

Each week, I’ll gather what’s happening around Aurora and share it here — simple, local, and easy to keep up with.

If you find it helpful, feel free to share it with a friend or neighbor. That’s how this grows.

🏛️ How Aurora Got Its Name

Aurora City Building (1886)
Look closely — the triangular detail near the top is said to represent the “dawn” 🌅
Can you spot the rays?

🌄 Did You Know?

Aurora, Indiana was named in 1819 after the Roman goddess of dawn.

But here’s where it gets interesting…

Some say the name was chosen as a playful nod to nearby Rising Sun — because the dawn comes before the rising sun.

Is it true?
No one seems to know for sure… but it’s a story that’s been passed around for generations.

👉 Have you heard this before?
👉 Or were you told something different?

Hit reply — I’d love to hear it. 👉 I may feature a few of your responses in a future issue.
